DR. PETER J. KARL
Dr. Karl is a native of Staten Island with many ties to the local community. He received his Doctor of Dental Medicine from Tufts University in Boston, Massachusetts. He received his bachelor’s degree from the State University of New York at Stony Brook and is also a member in good standing of the American Dental Association, the New York Dental Society and the Richmond County Dental Society.

My name is Joanne Stroming. I grew up in Manalapan, NJ, but currently live on Staten Island. I completed my studies at the University of Rhode Island and the University of Medicine and Dentistry. I am the full-time hygienist at Karl & Hoffman Dental Associates and have been practicing for over 15 years. It brings me great joy to be able to do what I love and make a difference in people’s lives. I am happily married and am a proud mother of two beautiful children.

CRISSY CASTELLANO — OFFICE MANAGER
My name is Crissy Castellano, and I am happily married with two beautiful daughters. I have been working at Karl & Hoffman Dental Associates for over 15 years. I started out as an assistant and am currently the office manager. My passion is dance, and I have been dancing competitively since I was five years old. Being able to share my love for dance with my two daughters has been an incredible experience. I am very proud to say that I love my job. I work with great people and am happy to wake up every morning to come to work.
LEAH PHILPOTT — PATIENT COORDINATOR
My name is Leah Philpott, and I was born and raised in Howard Beach, Queens. I moved to Staten Island several years ago with my husband, and we had a beautiful daughter on August 12, 2017. I am the hygiene coordinator at Karl & Hoffman Dental Associates. I started a catering company a few years ago and spend most of my free time cooking. Hopefully, “Leah’s Italian Apples” will continue to be successful, and the lucky people I work with will get to eat all the delicious leftovers.
ANNMARIE BYRNE — CLINICAL ASSISTANT
My name is Annmarie Byrne, and I live on Staten Island with my husband and two sons. I have been working for Drs. Hoffman and Karl for over 25 years. I love interacting with the patients and using humor to provide comfort to people who are feeling uneasy. My coworkers would call me the life of the party. This office has become an important part of my life, and I feel so grateful to have a home here.
LAURA CICERO — CLINICAL ASSISTANT
My name is Laura Cicero, and I have been an assistant at Karl & Hoffman Dental Associates for 20 years. Aside from having three children, I now have two beautiful granddaughters. Becoming a grandmother has been one of the best things I’ve ever experienced. I love to travel as often as possible and learn all about different cultures. When I’m home, I enjoy cooking and spending time with my husband.
CHELSEA RAPPO — CLINICAL ASSISTANT
My name is Chelsea Rappo. I was born and raised on Staten Island, and I still live here currently. I was recently married in June of 2018. I coach cheerleading at St. Charles, and I enjoy helping the girls reach their full potential. I have worked as an assistant for Drs. Hoffman and Karl for over seven years. I love what I do and am happy to say that my coworkers have turned into my family.
