Implant Placement Surgery

An implant is a prosthetic root that replaces the root of a missing or extruded tooth, providing a stable foundation for crown implantation. Dental implants are commonly used to replace one or more lost teeth, either alone or in conjunction with dentures or bridges.

The implant treatment method consists of numerous steps that take three to nine months to complete. The steps are as follows:

Step One: Evaluation and Treatment Planning
Following a thorough discussion of all available tooth replacement alternatives with your dentist, the dentist will assess the feasibility of implant procedure. The models will be prepared after the X-rays are taken.

Step 2: Inserting the Implant
A short surgical operation is required to place the implant, which is done under local anesthetic with sedation. If your dentist discovers that your bone tissue is inadequate during the examination, he or she may propose a bone regeneration operation that is done before or at the same time as the implant implantation.

Integration (Step 3) Period
The osseointegration process takes 6 weeks to 6 months for implants to integrate with the bone substance. Patients frequently wear temporary dentures or bridgework during this time.

Step 4: Reconstruction
The final restoration can now be attached to the implant after integration. One crown, detachable overdentures, and small or big bridges are all choices for tooth replacement. These replacements are normally created in a lab specifically for your mouth.

Maintenance (Step 5)
The implant procedure can take several months to complete. You should be able to eat a normal, healthy meal without problem once you’ve finished. It’s also critical that you continue to brush and floss your teeth as advised by your dentist.

Conclusion
The success rate of dental implants is 95%. They can last as long as your actual teeth, if not longer, if properly cared for.
